MCG Conference in 2010 in Riga, Latvia

In 2010 we had a very important event:
Sixth International Conference on 
Creativity in Mathematics Education and the Education of Gifted Students
      August  1  -  5, 2010  in Riga, Latvia

This conference was initiated by Agnis Andzans and organized at the University of Latvia by Dace Bonka and her team. The conference details are described below (registration, scientific program, schedule, participants, ...).

Since the Muenster conference in 1999 this was the sixth conference of a group which became more and more professional on a high level scientific international standard. Therefore at this conference in Riga we established this group formally as the new
             
International Group for Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness (MCG).

Conference Papers
The deadline  for abstracts submissions was March 15, 2010. About 50 proposal abstracts were accepted and published before the conference for the more than 70 participants from about 20 countries. Details see the conference booklet ABSTRACTS (ISBN 978-9984-45-212-8) or the preliminary list of presentations. The final PROCEEDINGS with about 45 papers were published in Riga in 2011 (ISBN 978-9984-45-360-6).

Conference Schedule

August 1 Arrival and registration, Welcome Reception in the evening
August 2 Full conference day (lectures, workshops, exhibitions). Opening Dinner in the evening.
August 3 Full conference day (lectures, workshops, exhibitions). Sightseeing walking tour in Old City Riga in the evening.
August 4 Plenary reports and the official MCG Establishment. Excursion on a ship in the afternoon & Closing Dinner.
August 5 Full-day excursion through Latvia (outside Riga) (not included in the registration fee) and/or Departure day.
