The workshop shall present a sequence of survey talks on topics from topology, group theory, homological algebra and K-theory which are related to the notion of classifying spaces for families of subgroups.
Examples of such topics will be the Baum-Connes Conjecture, the Farrell-Jones Conjecture, Bredon (co-)homology, hyperbolic groups and the Rips complex, mapping class groups and Teichmüller spaces, automorphism groups of free groups and outer space, almost connected Lie groups, and so on.
We hope that representatives from different fields will come together and learn from one another.
