Workshop on Topological Modular Forms

MÜNSTER (GERMANY)

Monday, October 13 to Friday, October 17, 2003

Program

The workshop consists of series of lectures on different aspects of the spectrum of Topological Modular Forms and related cohomology theories. The lecture series are:

All lectures take place at Mathematisches Institut, Einsteinstr. 62, in one of the lecture halls M2, M3, M4 or M5. The first talk will be given by Mike Hopkins and start Monday at 10:15am in lecture hall M4.

Conference Dinner

On Thursday, October 16, at 18:30 we have reserved a room at Pinkus Müller, a local brewery and restaurant serving regional cuisine and excellent beer. We have not pre-selected any dishes, so the full menu is available; participants are requested to pay for food and drinks themselves.

Literature

M. Hopkins:Algebraic topology and modular forms (Talk at the 2002 ICM, Bejing)
M. Hopkins:Algebraic topology and differential forms IV (Talk at Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics - available as slides, audio-stream and web-cam)
C. Rezk: Supplementary notes for Math 512 (Notes based on a course on topological modular forms)
P. Goerss:(Pre-)sheaves of ring spectra over the moduli stack of formal group laws (Notes from a talk given at the Isaac Newton Institute, September 2002)
P. Goerss, M. Hopkins:Moduli spaces of commutative ring spectra

Registration

If you would like to attend the workshop, please send an email to Stefan Schwede (sschwede(at)math.uni-muenster.de). There is no formal registration procedure and no conference fee.
